Summary

Chinese Church in Christ (CCIC) is an independent, evangelical, Bible teaching and Christ-centered Chinese Christian church, founded in 1971 with Mandarin, Cantonese and English speaking congregations.   English Congregation consists of about 140 adults.  We are looking for a Young Adult Minister to lead and grow the young adult groups and develop college student ministry.  Other than shepherding, discipleship, teaching and preaching responsibilities, the following qualifications are required:
•    Good interpersonal skills and willing to work in diverse cultural context
•    A team player with commitment to servant leadership
•    Called to serve among Chinese and Asian Americans
•    Married with experience in family life preferred
•    Understands Chinese culture and cross-cultural ministry
•    Agreement with CCIC values, structure and doctrinal position

Opening Details:

Introduction of Chinese Church in Christ, San Jose, California

I.    Vision/Purpose Statement
•    For the glory of God, in love and obedience to God and his Word our commitment is
o    To reach out to the unsaved in the South Bay Area
o    To bring them to Jesus and fellowship in His family
o    To build up the saints to Christ-like maturity
o    To equip them for local service and global missions

II.    Church Background
•    An independent, evangelical, Bible teaching and Christ-centered Chinese Christian church, founded in 1971.  Currently, there are five CCIC churches in South Bay area.
•    Governed by Board of Elders.
•    Four separate worship services, English/Mandarin/Cantonese/Youth.  Average Sunday attendance: 250 in Mandarin, 120 in English, 100 in Cantonese, 120 youth and 150 children

III.    English Congregation
•    Congregation consists of about 140 adults.  Significant majority of the congregation are married with children.  About 20 young adults, mostly young professionals single or married without children.
•    90% are of ethnic Chinese background.  60% are from Asia Pacific (Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.)  30% are local born Asian Americans.  10% inter-racial married couples.

Ministry Responsibilities:
•    Develop college student ministry
•    Lead and grow the existing young adult ministry and fellowship groups
•    Shepherd and disciple college students and young adults
•    Preach Sunday messages on a monthly basis
•    Teach young adult Sunday School classes

Qualifications:
•    Seminary/Bible school graduate
•    Pastoral experience.
•    Good interpersonal skills and willing to work in diverse cultural context
•    A team player with commitment to servant leadership
•    Called to serve among Chinese and Asian Americans
•    Married with experience in family life preferred, but not required
•    Understands Chinese culture and cross-cultural ministry
